The HSE urges schools not to be deterred from arranging trips and visits – but stresses that organizers must be aware of the duty to properly plan and manage such events.
We believe that schools should not be deterred from organizing a HeliWise visit simply because they are not familiar with the procedures appropriate to the safe operation of a helicopter on their premises.
Accordingly, before any arrangements are made we undertake a site survey
We provide you with a plan designating a safe area. Included with this plan is a Risk Assessment & Procedures document applicable to your school.
It is then simply a matter of following these procedures on the day. You are free to amend or alter our recommendations but details must be agreed by both parties. In practice this is rarely necessary.
When confirming a booking we are also pleased to forward copies of the aircraft Insurance cover which is never less than $5M, rising to $25M for twin-engine machines.
Additionally, all flights are made by fully qualified commercial pilots operating under strict FAA controls.
